Stayed for 3 night Christmas package. Couldn't fault it. Staff were very helpful and polite. Food was excellent (All said far too much)Great value for money. Definitely do it again.

Stayed whilst on a short walking holiday, food and service excellent. It was autumn so not shown at its best location-wise! Not a lot they could do about that. Rooms warm and a fire in the area near the bar.

I only visited to meet relatives unseen for a decade, a brunch if you like, coffees, teas and hot drinks were excellent and one jacket potato hot meal appeared also to be excellent although it wasn't mine to taste. Strangely, in over 40 years of living and working in the area and at one stage being closely allied to Rutland Water, it's the first time I've visited it. Great location but can't comment on the rooms, my cousin said it was great however.

We went to have afternoon tea. The location of the hotel is nice and as the sun was out it looked better. The set up in the restaurant was really nice. We had arranged to have afternoon tea with unlimited processco.

Nice place to stay on the shore of Rutland Water. Rooms are a little tired and would benefit with a bit of an overhaul. Good rate for an overnight stay with breakfast.

Had a wedding reception. The food was very nice. The service was good. But, the Bridal Suite was poor. The room was bland and the carpet was minging. It was faded, dirty and in poor condition. The bathroom gave the impression that it was held together with mastic and hope. The hope being that the mastic didn't fail as the room would fall apart. The shower was mouldy at the base and the mastic seal was ingrained with mould. The room was below the standard expected.

We booked this hotel because it is dog friendly we had a good sized room and was made very welcome in the bar area with the dog and the staff are very friendly will be going back the only thing that is disappointing was the check in time 4pm it was 2pm before much better time

Room smelt damp, was given a disabled room, which is not a problem, but the floor was sticky in areas and slippy in others. The shower main shower head was black and filthy, and so were the tiles on the walls! Was there for a work trip otherwise I would never have stayed.

Great spot for chips and a pint with a view into the water. Good little play area for kids. 2 star review because of silly parking charges. My wife staid for 22 minutes while we did a child seat swap to my own car which I registered and I went in for food and a drink with boy. She received a £60/£100 fine for staying more than 15 minutes (22 minutes!) without registering the car inside. Automated via a camera on a pole. Totally not necessary and a real kick in the teeth, for genuine customers. The idea that they won’t have genuine customers that will dip into the parking for more than 15 minutes is ridiculous. How many people will be doing drop offs for weddings, guests, picking up, stay slightly over and get a really nasty awful surprise fine in the post 7 days later.

We just went for lunch which was delicious. The service was excellent and we had a lovely walk right next to Rutland Water. We are going again!

Stayed on a Sunday night in the Stamford room. Dinner on Sunday evening was perfect. I had salmon and my husband had chicken. Best meals out we have had for long time ! Well done chef !!. and view from restaurant over water with sunset was fabulous Room was great with lovely view over Rutland water Super comfy bed and room and ensuite very clean and spacious Could have done with light switch next to bed for bathroom visits in middle of night but otherwise no compaints. Service from all staff was first class Wish we could have stayed longer but hopefully will be back

Beautiful location - but could be so much nicer… no cushions on patio chairs, dirty outside tables, only one person serving so queue at bar and long wait, no disabled support/signs.

Lovely hotel with very pleasant grounds overlooking Rutland water. Service was very good , particularly in the restaurant. Excellent menu, catering well for gluten free requirements. We stayed in a room in the annex which was rather noisy from slamming doors. Would stay there again, but probably in the main building.

The good things were the superb staff, lovely bathroom, cleanliness and the food provided at the wedding. Negatives are the flat lager, breakfast sausage wasn't good and the sofa bed needs to be thrown away, as it is very old and very uncomfortable. Thankyou to the staff, with Sue on reception being so lovely.

We celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary in July at the hotel on a Sunday, we had beautiful weather, amazing sunsets and really brilliant BBQ food cooked by fantastic chefs. We had such a lovely time and have some fabulous memories of our celebrations with our family and friends. Huge thanks to Wayne and all of the amazing staff who were there for us, such great organisation from you all which made our day so special. Thank you so much from Andy and Fiona
